Hare Krishna is bona-fide for this reason: According to the Vedas, (Padma Purana), there are four authorized disciplic successions of Vedic teaching. The Madhva Sampradaya is one of them. The Hare Krishna Movement is a branch of the Madhva Sampradaya known as the Madhva-Gaudiya Vaisnava disciplic succession, and is thus fully bona-fide Vedic spirituality.

The Hare Krishna movement is a branch of the Madhva-Gaudiya Sampradaya. A disciplic succession of spiritual teachers going back to Madhvacharya 800 years ago. It has roots in the ancient Vedic scriptures of 5,000 years ago.

This Madhva-Gaudiya Sampradaya branch formed approximately 520 years ago in West Bengal, India. The International Society for Krishna Consciousness, which is part of this Sampradaya was founded in 1966 by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami, in New York.

The main sources of Indian philosophy are the sacred texts known as the Vedas, Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita, and the philosophical texts of prominent thinkers like Shankara, Ramanuja, and Madhva. These texts explore concepts such as dharma, karma, moksha, and the nature of reality, consciousness, and existence.

Leaving out the mythological figures, the important teachers (Acharyas) of Hinduism are Sankara, Ramanuja, Nimbarka, Madhva, Vallabha, Chaitanya, Gorakhnath, etc.

There have been great devotees in all regions, they are also important, Meera, Tulsi, Surdas, Tukaram, Gnaneshwar, Eknath, Samarth Guru Ramdas, Haridas, etc. in North and West India.

Among the recent leaders are Mahesh Yogi, Bhaktivedanta Swami, Ramakrishna, Vivekananda, Ramana Maharshi, Swami Shivananda, Swami Chinmayananda, Swami Rama Tirtha, Narayana Guru, etc.
