You give it to the fanboy on Todano. Find the area and he'll give you 20,000 bolts and an Armor Magnetizer which gets bolts from a far distance.

* Magnetic field weakens with the square of distance -- place the magnet as far away as possible.

* Magnetic field is shielded with metal -- wrap the magnet in metal films, the best being ferromagnetic materials, such as iron, cobalt, etc.

* use a de-magnetizer frequently on the objects that you don't want to be magnetized.

It is located on the Zeldrin starport (I think, if not, it's the place where Quark supposedly dies) if you just keep going forward, instead of going straight to Quark and Skrunch, and keep following that path, you'll eventually come to the end and find the bolt grabber (Combination armor magnetizer and box breaker [from Going Commando.])

Water magnetizers are just another scam trying to separate money from people.

Do a little reading and understand that magnets act on metals not oxygen or hydrogen which is what water is composed of. The only thing a magnet can do to water is remove any ferrous metals suspended in it, that is all.

I'm not sure, but I can tell you that I have a very cheap (97 cent) compass that suddenly started reading backwards. I fixed it by placing it directly on top of a magnetizer-demagnetizer for several seconds (like one you use to temporarily magnetize screwdrivers with) and now it reads normal again. *I only used that tool because that's the only real magnet that I have lying around. A regular magnet may have worked as well.
