As of January, 2013 there are less than 15,000 Iranian/Persian
Jews are living in Iran presently (with some estimates closer to
8,600). They are an older population, with many of the younger
Iranian Jews, choosing to live and work outside Iran. They do have
a reserved seat in the Majles (the Iranian Parliament) since
several minority religions like Christianity and Zoroastrianism
also have reserved seats.
