The smell of dew depends on the surroundings, or environment, of where the dew is located. If the dew is on a blade of grass, it may smell like grass. If it is on a petal of a flower, it may smell like the flower, or its pollen. All in all, dew usually smells like water, since it technically is water.

I'm not finding it anywhere on the nearest empty can of Mt. Dew. Specify where it is on the can and roughly where you bought it geographically. It may indicate where it was bottled.

This is possible if the dew claw was not removed properly. In this case it will more than likely be deformed and may need to be removed by a vet.
