Eugene J Kelley developed this term by saying that it is the synthesis of all managerial, traditional, scientific, social and historical foundations of marketing and includes specialisation on the inter relationships of mental and physical processes to supplement the facts and empirical observations of marketing practice.The word "meta" is being used to mean "beyond" as in metaphysics. This concept is developed as the marketing appears to be moving towards broader horizons. The concern of meta marketing is to focus all scientific, social, ethical and managerial experiences on marketing. Eugene J Kelley, desenvolveu esse termo como a síntese de todas as bases, administrativa, tradicional, científica, social, histórica, em mercadologia, que incluiria o desenvolvimento das inter-relações psicológicas e materiais do processo para suplementar as observações empíricas e fatos da prática de marketing.
