Mickey Mouse was first seen in a test screening, but his official debut was in 1928 in one of the first sound cartoons 'Steamboat Willie'. Beginning in 1930 Mickey Mouse was also featured extensively as a comic strip character. Drawn mainly by Floyd Gottfredson, the newspaper comic 'Mickey Mouse' ran for 45 years.
