Microsoft Home Publishing 2000 offers a variety of options in terms of using the computer to create personalized products fit for just about any activity requiring printed material. The multiple CDs provide a wide array of formats, fonts and styles in developing, designing, constructing and printing personal greeting cards, newsletters, banners, posters and more.
With over 70,000 graphics and 10,000 project templates, there's plenty of pre-designed material and the 2000 edition comes complete with several enhancements and additions to previously released versions. New creations now include web pages with navigation bars, envelopes, postcards, 3-panel pamphlets and even planner and organizer pages. This version allows production of new effects on pictures and easy web posting, as well as techniques to aid the flow of newsletters. The program also offers text stretching and wrapping, photo editing, and multimedia publishing options.
From the startup page, you select or explore different projects, and then using those templates, access graphics and a myriad of options to enhance your project. The endless possibilities of mixing or matching material from pre-constructed patterns or designing a project from scratch are complemented by the easy accessibility of the various options and inclusion of the thousands of icons, text offerings, fonts and graphics.
A detailed user manual offers information on all areas of design and provides examples of projects, graphics, and even available fonts for use with home publishing needs.
