For a set of numerical data the midrange is the arithmetic mean of the greatest and least values in the set. It is sometimes used as a measure of location, but it is unreliable, since, by definition, it depends only on extreme values.



That third of the range of movement of a joint in which the muscle is around its midpoint of contraction. The midrange separates the inner range from the outer range.
