why did mike franks leave ncsi

Muse Watson played the role of Mike Franks in NCIS. Franks was the Mentor for Leroy Jethro Gibbs and is one of the most loved characters in the series. Even though he comes only in a few episodes, he impresses with his cool acting. He was killed in Season 8 in the episode "Swan Song". The Port-to-Port killer kills Franks when Franks confronts him.

She was shot in a shootout in which she was with Mike Franks, Gibbs old mentor.
