Molly Bingham, is a freelance photojournalist who was on assignment in Iraq for the World Picture News Photo Agency when she and three other Western journalists were captured and held in an Iraqi prison. Taken from the Palestine Hotel, in Baghdad, where she was staying, Bingham and the others were brought to the Abu Ghraib Prison, the Arab world's largest prison.They were released after 11 days, and delivered to the Iraqi-Jordanian border, where they made their way to Amman.
Bingham, 34, grew up near Louisville, KY, and has travelled extensively in her capacity as a photojournalist, to places like Rwanda, Israel, Iran and Afghanistan. She was the official photographer on Al Gore's 2000 presidential campaign.
