a tetrapeptide amide fragment of the milk protein β-casein, structure Tyr-Pro-Phe-Pro−NH2, and the N-terminal tetrapeptide of casomorphin. It is a potent and specific agonist for μ-opiate receptors, its effects on the receptor being blocked by naloxone.
