Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether (MTBE) is fuel additive whose water
pollution can result in sickness and poisoning. Health problems
from MTBE contaminated water supplies are chiefly dependent on
concentration and duration of exposure. MTBE exposure symptoms
include but are not limited to irritation of the skin & eye,
gastrointestinal tract problems, vomit, nauseousness and head
pains. Loss of consciousness and death are also possible given
sufficient dosage.
