the Nasopharynx

The areas of the pharynx are the Nasopharynx, Oropharynx, and Laryngopharynx.

The nasopharynx it provides passageway for air. The oropharynx is below the nasopharynx and is for food moving downward from the mouth and for air moving to and from the nasal cavity. Lastly the laryngopharynx is below the oropharynx and is a passageway to the esophagus.

The pharynx conducts air from the nasopharynx to the laryngopharynx.

The nasopharynx is the space above the soft palate at the back of thethe nose and connects the nose to the mouth,

Larynx




It is the NASOPHARYNX. It can not be the Larynx because it's not part of the pharynx. The upper portion of the pharynx, the nasopharynx; is the passageway for air.
