There are many museums in Dublin. Ireland's national museum is
in Dublin, but is located in several separate parts of the city.
There are many other specialised museums, along with galleries and
significant libraries. Dublin and Ireland have a rich cultural
heritage and much of this is on display in the museums and other
public places in the city.
Amongst the museums are the National museum's three locations.
The Archaeology section is in Kildare Street. The National History
Museum is on Merrion Square. The Decorative Arts and History museum
is in the old Collins Barracks building.
Other museums include, the Dublin Writers Museum on Parnell
Square, the National Wax Museum in Foster Place, the Irish Museum
of Modern Art in Kilmainham, the National Transport Museum in
Howth, The James Joyce Museum in Sandycove, the Irish Jewish Museum
in Walworth Road, the National Print Museum in Haddington Road and
many others.
