When a player verbally antagonizes an opponent in an attempt to put their opponent on a tilt.
SoundPoker Says: Needling can happen in jest between friends or between complete strangers. In general, needling is frowned upon in casinos, and won't earn you many poker friends.
Some players consciously decide to needle opponents and use it as a strategy to throw winning opponents off of their game. Unfortunately, there are also players who don't consciously realize that they are needling, and are in fact just an annoying person.
