In policy debate, the Negative (NEG) is the team which negates the resolution.
The negative team speaks second and second to last. They give four speeches:
- First negative constructive (1NC)
- Second negative constructive (2NC)
- First negative rebuttal (1NR)
- Second negative rebuttal (2NR)
