There are many browsers which will run on a Mac. Apple provides 'Safari' which is based on the WebKit architecture. The most popular are 'Firefox' by Mozilla,' 'Internet Explorer' by Microsoft, 'Opera' by Opera, and of course 'Safari' by Apple.

Cookies are like little sms you send on the cell phone, only they are sent to your computer by a web site you visit. They can contain anything that can be sent in a text message. Cookies that are in your computer can also be read by a web page.

You go on the Internet with an application called a 'Browser' from the activity used by cattle as they roam around looking for something to eat. Each browser can be set to accept all cookies, some cookies, or no cookies, and how long to keep them. Stored cookies can be deleted as well.

These processes are accomplished by opening the preferences for the browser, locating the page that deals with cookies and setting them to your preferences. It is here where you can also delete cookies. Since each browser looks and behaves differently, it is not possible to explain the steps for each browser here. If you are having trouble with your browser, also look for the browser's 'HELP' page and search for 'delete cookies.'
