Business Dictionary: Notebook Computer
Top

A portable computer typically the size of a notebook (about 9" X 12" X 1" thick) and weighing 3 to 7 pounds. The screen is back-hinged and folds open for viewing. Batteries last one to five hours before needing to be recharged, though innovations in the mid-1990s allow use of throw-away AA-size batteries. Many have all the features of a desktop computer and ports to plug in full-size keyboards, color monitors, printers, and telephone connections. See also Powerbook.
