Nobis Sancti Spiritus is the start of a verse from Horae Spiritus Sancti ("Hours of the Holy Spirit"), a medieval monastic office.

The full line of text in which these words appear is Nobis Sancti Spiritus gratia sit data, which is "May the grace of the Holy Spirit be given to us." (Nobis is "to us" and Sancti Spiritus is "of the Holy Spirit".)

These are two snippets from a text known as Lorem ipsumwhich has been used as dummy text by printers for some 500 years and can now be found all over the Internet on websites under construction. It is gibberish constructed from bits and pieces of real Latin texts.

Modo typi qui nunc nobis videntur parum clari means "... way, symbols that now seem to us insufficiently clear ... ".

Quam littera gothica quam nunc putamus parum claram anteposuerit means "... how gothic lettering, which we now think insufficiently clear, he had preferred ...".

The entire quote is: "Veni Sancte Spiritus reple tuorum corda fidelium et tui amoris in eis ignem accende"

This translates as:

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Thy faithful and kindle in them the fire of Thy love.
