Oberlin Conservatory of Music was created in 1865.

It is a music conservatory Another famous music conservatory is located in Russia. It is called the Moscow Imperial Conservatory and was co-founded in 1866. There is another type of conservatory which is a butterfly conservatory located in Cincinnati, Ohio. It was built in 1933 and it is called the "Krohn Conservatory".

Oberlin College in Ohio was known for admitting female and black students long before there was a legal requirement to do so. The Oberlin Conservatory of Music, part of the college, is the oldest continuously operating conservatory in the country.
