Too thin, too fat. Studies show that some 60% of Americans are overweight, with about one third in the obese range, meaning that they are at least 20% above normal weight. On the flip side of the coin, researchers have found that at least one percent of America's female adolescents are anorexic and approximately four percent of college-age women are bulimic. Both sides of the weight problem may be a sign of eating disorders. Tomorrow is the start of 2008's National Eating Disorders Awareness Week (NEDAW). This year's slogan is "Be comfortable in your genes." NEDAW seeks to encourage people to feel at ease in their bodies, while promoting healthy eating practices.
