Students of this university are citizens not of Athens or Ohio, but the world. Ohio University offers some 250 undergraduate programs and more than 150 graduate degree programs to more than 16,000 students. In addition to its main campus in Athens, Ohio, the university has seven regional campuses and centers in the southeastern part of the state Its 10 academic colleges include the Scripps College of Communications and the Russ College of Engineering and Technology. The university's Center for International Studies provides global and area studies and activities. Founded in 1804, Ohio University is the oldest public institution of higher learning in the state.
