Oldenzaal (
pronunciation (help·info)) is a municipality and a town in the eastern of the Netherlands, near the border with Germany.
It received city rights in 1249.
It is located on the A1 motorway from Amsterdam to Germany and has a rail connection to Zutphen.
Oldenzaal was part of the Hanseatic League, also known as the Hansa, as a subsidiary city of fellow Hanseatic city Deventer.
