United States in 1914 by Cadillac.
Oldsmobile, another division of General Motors, introduced its
own V8 engine in 1916.
Chevrolet introduced a V8 engine in 1917
Ford introduced the V8 flathead engine in 1932. It was the first
independently designed and built V8 engine produced by Ford for
mass production.
Oldsmobile introduced the V8 overhead valve engine in 1949.
