Omega-3 fatty acids are a family of n-3 fatty acids and
therefore not a drug or chemical. There is no more specific a name
for this group of fatty acids than omega-3.
Three fatty acids in this group that are of nutritional
significance in the human diet are: α-linolenic acid (ALA),
eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA).
