The wrongful dispossession of a person, or exclusion of him from property. Usually applied to the acts of a co-tenant which exclude other co-tenants from their legal right to share possession. The ouster of co-tenants with proper notice will commence the running of the statute of limitations for purposes of adverse possession. See 226 S.W. 2d 484, 486.
