An overactive bladder can be caused by fluctuations in hormonal
levels, bladder prolapse and menopause. In addition, an overactive
bladder can cause people to leak urine when they sneeze, laugh,
cough or run. Wearing incontinence pads can help absorb leaks,
however, they can be bulky and uncomfortable. A bladder prolapse,
which is also known as a cystocele happens when the bladder falls
or prolapses into the vaginal area, causing overactive bladder,
incontinence and sometimes predisposing the person to urinary tract
infections.
