An excessive load.



1. A load on a structure in excess of that for which it was designed.
2. Electric current, power, or voltage in excess of that for which a device or circuit was designed.


Codition that occurs when the load is greater than the system was designed to handle. (Load resistance too small, load current too high.) Overload results in waveform distortion and/or overheating.


A larger load than the system can comfortably bear.
