Pacific Overtures was created in 1976.

Bugs Bunny's Overtures to Disaster was created in 1991.

For the most part, it depends on the composer. Some composers prefer to do things in order, but others will compose overtures as they are inspired for them. This means that the overtures may not necessarily be composed in order.

Beethoven composed 10 overtures in total. Four of these are written for his only opera, Fidelio. One of his popular overtures is Egmont Overture (Opus 84).
