Party City Holdings makes and sells the goods for a well-dressed party. The #1 retailer of party supplies in the US, Party City operates more than 825 company-owned and franchised locations -- most under the Party City banner -- and some 400 seasonal Halloween City stores. The shops sell balloons, decorations, tableware, costumes, and more for birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, weddings, and other special occasions. Its stores are supplied by Party City's manufacturing and wholesale arm Amscan, which also supplies other party chains, as well as discount and grocery stores, and gift shops. Founded in 1947, the party supply company is being taken public by owners, Berkshire Partners and Weston Presidio.
