Pasupathy (Tamil: பசுபதி; born 18 May 1969) is an Indian film actor. He appeared in critically acclaimed roles in many noted films in Tamil cinema, essaying supporting, antagonistic, comedic as well as protagonistic roles. His performance in E (2006) earned him a Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor and a Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Supporting Actor. He also won an ITFA Best Supporting Actor Award for his role in Kuselan (2008). He has also appeared in Malayalam, Telugu, and Kannada films.

Pasupathy Ramasamy was born in 1969 near Maduravoyal, a suburb of Chennai, India, is a theatre artist by profession who fine-tuned his acting skills through the famous acting school "Koothu-P-Pattarai" based in Chennai. In 1984, He joined `Kuthupattarai' where he was there till 1997. He studied and grew up there till he started to act in films.
He became friends with actor Nassar who was in the film institute and later joined the `Kuthuppattarai'. When he was working in Marudhanayagam,' Nasar asked him whether he was interested in film. I said `yes' and he introduced him to Kamal Haasan. He was given the villain role. That was the first time he was before the camera. But Nasser's `Mayan' was the first of his films to get released. Nasser helped him a lot.[2]
He got his first major recognized role in Virumaandi as (Kothaala Thevar)[3] and Kannathil Muthamittal where he played an LTTE freedom fighter. He later began appearing in negative roles in a number of films such as Dhool, Virumaandi, Thirupaachi. He is the only actor who refuses to act as a romantic hero. He later branched out into comedy with Mumbai Express and Majaa. His first lead role was in the National Film Award winning film Veyyil. He later received several other supporing and lead roles in the films Raman Thediya Seethai and Kuselan.
