Payerne is a municipality in the Swiss canton of Vaud. It is the seat of the district of Payerne. The population of Payerne (as of December 2007[update]) is 8,065.[1]
The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau of the Swiss government is headquartered in Payerne, by Payerne Airport.[2]
Payerne is also the home of a major airbase of the Swiss Air Force.[citation needed]
