Pearson Education is an international PreK-20 educational publishing company of textbooks and other educational material, such as multimedia learning tools. It was created in 1998 when Pearson purchased the education division of Simon & Schuster and merged it with its own education division, Addison–Wesley Longman.

Pearson Education is headquartered in Boston, MA, Glenview, IL, Chandler, AZ and Upper Saddle River, New Jersey, USA.[1] It is part of Pearson PLC, which is headquartered in London, England, UK, with offices in Harlow and Oxford.

School Systems

In 2006, Pearson acquired Chancery SMS and PowerSchool. Both are web-based Student information systems for K-12 schools. These two products, along with state reporting systems, legacy products like SASI, and others, make up the School Systems division of Pearson.

PowerSchool, a company of 160 employees,[3] was acquired in March 2001 by Apple Inc.. Apple then sold it to Pearson Education in April 2006.[4]

ChancerySMS was acquired a month later, with the deal closing in May 2006.[5]
