In terms of structure, Phenobarbital and Sodium Pentobarbitone
are both Barbituates, but Phenobarbital carries a strong phenyl
group attached to its cyclic ring whereas Sodium Pentobarbitone
carries extra mass with the sodium group attached and less
structural ability due to loose butyl and pyrimidine groups.
Administered to a human, The ketone Sodium Pentobarbitone will be
much less soluble compared to Phenobarbital which is actively
absorbed by cutaneous tissues.
