Pervomaysk (Russian: Первома́йск) is a town in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Russia, located some 190 km south of Nizhny Novgorod. The name of the town may be translated as "The First of May", alluding to the May Day. Until 1951 the town was known as Tashino. Population: 15,094 (2002 Census); 16,000 (1974).
