Genotype is all the genetic information present at the gene locus on the chromosome pair.

If the phenotype is recessive the genotype will be designated by two lower case letters. Ex. aa is black

If the phenotype is dominant the genotype could be designatedtwo upper case letters or one upper case and one lower case letter. Ex. Aa or AA is red.
