If you say something related to the Darwin theories, it goes back to his theory of evolution. Darwin's theory on the 'origin of species' is just that a theory. This theory has not been proved which is why it remains a theory and is not accepted as law. It is however, accepted as law, and taught as law, even though your professors may have pointed out that you were learning of the theory of evolution, watch how outraged scientists and academics become when 'intelligent design' theory is proposed as curriculum in the public schools. The arguments become that one is science the other religion, but both parties act as if they are adhering to "isms", the willingness to openly debate the matter and take a critical view is diminished by the dogmatists on both sides of the issue. There is the scientific method which follows a strict set of rules and there are religious methods which follow a strict set of rituals. Increasingly those who advocate Darwin's theory of evolution abandon any respect for the scientific method in favor in their faith that Darwin was right. The unfortunate belief that Darwinism is science is strange given the ism clearly attached to belief in Darwin. Scientific facts or laws do not find isms attached to their name. Have you ever heard of Newtonism? Physicism? Biologyism? Einsteinism? Einstein put forth several theories, but the public schools have managed to avoid any battles over spooky action at a distance versus God works in mysterious ways.

The issue of theory's being treated as if they were fact extends beyond Darwinism and has infected the medical establishment in horrible ways. Freud's theories and the whole of psychiatry has placed so much faith in faith and so rejected the scientific method that all they can offer in terms of healing is a life time of therapy, in terms of controlling people both psychiatry and Psychology have contributed far more than freeing them. Another example of theories treated as fact is the whole cancer model in the medical profession today. Billions of dollars spent on research and experimentation and yet more people are dying of cancer today than did 50 years ago. And even yet another example of a theory being treated as fact is the theory that HIV causes AIDS. Here is a theory that blatantly disregards the scientific method, fails to predict accurately and fails to explain and yet it is regarded as fact. Laws have been written based on the assumption that HIV causes AIDS. Even worse, is how this theory came to pass as fact. Propaganda and strong political action by certain groups that advocate the theory as fact, have lobbied governments for money and laws that would bring in even more money and many, many, many people who advocate the HIV=AIDS theory have profited greatly, even though many, many, many people have died (quite possibly because of the theory itself), and still to this day "there is a lot we just don't know about AIDS".

Darwinists are not scientists although you may find scientists amongst the Darwinists. Darwinisms are found more easily in the political arena and the public schools than found in scientific journals. What does this tell you about Darwinism?
