( b nr Crécy-en-Brie, 10 Feb 1717; d c 1792). French composer and baritone. He worked at the French court, was an assistant conductor at the Paris Opéra, 1750-55, and in 1756 became compositeur de la chambre du roi. He composed a successful pastorale heroïque, Aeglé (1748), three other stage works, airs (including brunettes with harp or guitar), cantatas and cantatilles in an attractive lyrical style.
