(b Tel-Aviv, 16 July 1948). Israeli violinist. On Stern's recommendation he entered the Juilliard School, New York, and in 1967 was joint winner of the Leventritt Competition. His New York and London débuts were in 1969. He is admired for his expressive phrasing and brilliant technique, often heard in partnership with Barenboim and Perlman. He has conducted since 1971.
