A politico or pol is a person involved in politics. The word comes from the Greek languageπολιτικός, where it means "politician". In the modern usage it refers to people involved in political behavior of any sort. For instance, the term is often used to describe people who have overly political viewpoints or who spend considerable time "playing politics" within an organization.
