Yingluck Shinawatra became the Prime Minister of Thailand in 2011 August 5 as leader of the Pheu Thai party. She is the first female Prime Minister of Thailand, and the sister of Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra who was deposed in 2006 by the military. Before entering politics, Yingluck was involved in the telecommunications business.
