History
Jacob Merritt and Isaac Karns formed Pomegranates as a project in late 2006. Soon after that they recruited Joey Cook and wrote their first song, Nursery Magic, at their first practice together in November 2006. Pomegranates' first recorded work (The Two Eyes EP) was recorded within four months of being a band and within a week of its release the band signed to Lujo Records. Josh Kufeldt (formerly "Mooncollision") joined the group in late 2007. Their debut album came out in May 2008. They have since shared the stage or toured with French Kicks, Jimmy Eat World, Peter Bjorn and John, Islands, Menomena, Headlights, and Javelins. For Pomegranates second album they did the bulk of tracking at friend Steven Howell's house in northern Kentucky. They then tracked overdubs and two additional songs with TJ Lipple of Aloha at Inner Ear Studios in Washington D.C. and had him mix and master the album as a whole. The album, "Everybody, Come Outside," was released April 14, 2009. The album was given it's full UK release on November 30th by Heist Or Hit Records.
