The official language of Portugal is Portuguese, which is spoken
by nearly everyone there. There are some local dialects (variations
of the language) used in the Azore Islands or in parts of Portugal
near the border with Spain, especially in the northern parts, but
even people who speak these dialects use Portuguese to
outsiders.
