There are five different meanings of the acronym PXE. The five
definitions of PXE are Preboot Execution Environment,
Pseudoxanthoma Elasticum, Partial XML Envelope, Proof &
Experimental Establishment, and Post Exercise Evaluation.
PXE (Preboot eXecution Environment) is a method for diskless
booting over a network. Using PXE, a computer without a hard drive
can boot into an operating system. PXE is also used for installing
an operating system onto multiple computers at the same time.
