The State of Michigan does nor require a Private Road Agreement. But, it's a good idea. The State does require that if you sell a house on a private road that you disclose if the road is not required to be maintained by the county.

In jurisdictions that are instituting the automated 9-1-1 emergency response system and the necessary mapping systems of their jurisdictions to go with them, they will require all roadways, public AND private to have names so that the road names can be entered into the database or computer assisted dispatching.
