The CPA must be professionally competent, exercise due professional care, properly plan and supervise the engagement, and obtain adequate data to form a conclusion about an engagement. CPAs cannot have their names associated with forecasts in such a way as to have users believe they vouch for the achievability. The CPA must follow Gaas in the pursuance of the audit function and may not express an unqualified opinion on financial statements if they depart from Gaap. The CPA must keep confidential information obtained from the client in the course of a professional engagement. Further, professional services cannot be offered on a contingent fee based on findings or results of services. A CPA in public practice shall not engage in an incompatible occupation creating a conflict of interest.
