Carcinoma of the prostate is a type of cancer of prostate, which involves the soft tissue or the connected tissue and not the gland cells.

As the sperm passes to the ducts connected to the seminal vesicles, prostate gland and Cowper's gland, fluid is added.

Females do not have prostate glands. A gland in females with similar characteristics to the prostate, previously called paraurethral or Skene's glands, connected to the distal third of the urethra in the prevaginal space has been considered by a few researchers as a "prostate-like" gland.

Prostate massage is only recommended for prostate health issues, such as enlarged prostate (BPH) or prostatitis (prostate inflammation).

Due to the potential risk of releasing prostate cancer cells that can spread to the body, it is not recommended that men with prostate cancer perform prostate massage.
