Pyrolobus fumarii is the classification for archaea. Archaea have the unique ability to survive extremely hot temperatures and are part of the thermoprotei class.

Extremophiles are archaeans which can survive in very harsh conditions which other organisms will never survive for the slightest minute. There are three categories: thermophiles- these survive in high temperature environments an example: Pyrolobus fumari; halophiles- the survive in very salty conditions such as the Dead Sea which is 8times saltier than normal sea water an example: Haloarcula sp. methanogens- thelive in anaerobic environments such as ponds, sewages and produce methane as a by-product. Sorry i don't have an example for this one.
