Cold laser therapy, also known as low-level laser therapy, uses
low-level (or low-powered) lasers in an attempt to alter cell
functioning. It is generally considered experimental in mainstream
medicine as evidence for its use is scant. Dr. Stephen Barrett of
Quackwatch, a site dedicated to debunking the false claims of
questionable medical practices, is of the opinion that these
devices may, "bring about temporary relief of some types of pain,
but there's no reason to believe that they will influence the
course of any ailment or are more effective than other forms of
heat delivery." http://www.devicewatch.org/reports/lllt.shtml
There is no suggestion, anywhere, that cold laser therapy could
be helpful in bipolar disorder and there is certainly no evidence
supporting that use.
