Evidentally not. I have done some research . radio Veronica was
a Dutch offshore radio station- operating on ships- they even had
their share of accidents- and run-ins with the Coast Guard- who had
to send over a lifeboat when one of the Veronica ships literally
went under! The name is derived from a character, evidentally, in a
Dutch animal comic - Veronica, the Little Black Sheep, or Lamb.
Does not, after all, refer to Mrs.Spector. They probably did use
Philips ( Dutch electronics concern- and big) Class 5000
Transmitters which have been used since the late forties for all
kinds of maritime and private line special operations. The term
5000 refers to either power output- 5000 Watts ( hardly
walkie-talkie stuff) or a 5000 Nautical-mile range on a good clear
night. they had the call letters- V-RON which also suggests the
Girl"s name. as far as known no connection with Mrs. Spector.
